Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has promised not to feel sorry for himself despite being diagnosed as suffering from a fractured rib.

The midfielder picked up the injury against West Ham on Saturday in a 2-1 Manchester United win and was forced off the pitch in the 74th minute.

It has now been confirmed that the Spaniard has a fractured rib and Manchester United will continue to assess his condition.

Herrera is likely to be out of action for at least three weeks however and adds to manager Louis van Gaal's injury woes.

The summer signing from Athletic Bilbao is determined not to be disheartened though and has vowed to do his best to get back to action as quickly as possible.
