Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Danny Welbeck's aggressive nature in this evening's Champions League clash against Galatasaray at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger watched his side run riot on the 18th anniversary of his taking over at Arsenal, recording a 4-1 victory in which Welbeck scored a hat-trick.

Welbeck hit his first in the 22nd minute, following it up with a quickfire second in the 30th. Alexis Sanchez then scored a third for Arsenal in the 41st minute, before Welbeck completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute.

The only negative for Arsenal was goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny being sent off in the 63rd minute for a foul, with Galatasaray converting the resultant penalty.

"That instinct of a goalscorer [from Welbeck] was more aggressive and he finished well with the work of the team. He has such good pace it gives him time to finish calmly", Wenger told Sky Sports.
