Francesco Totti has vowed to keep going after becoming the oldest ever player to score in Champions League history, beating the record previously held by Ryan Giggs.

The 38-year-old found the back of the net in the 23rd minute at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City last night, with the group stage game between his Roma side and the Citizens ending 1-1.

Totti was quick to express his happiness at the feat, while he also scored his first goal on English soil in the process.

However, he has no desire to slow down and has vowed to keep on hunting goals for the Giallorossi.

"I am proud to have achieved [the oldest goalscorer record], without any doubt, but I hope to carry on and not stop here", he told UEFA.

"I've said before I am 38 but I don't feel it."

Totti's goal came with him being 38 years and three days old.

The record had previously been held by Giggs, who scored for Manchester United in 2011 at the age of 37 years and 290 days old.

Giggs will not be able to reclaim the record, having retired this summer to take the job of assistant manager at Manchester United.
