Alexander Buttner has revealed he is continually asked questions about Manchester United, despite having left the club in the summer.

The Dutch left-back decided to quit Old Trafford in search of regular first team football, settling on Russian Premier League outfit Dynamo Moscow, and ending a two-year spell with the Red Devils.

He is pleased with his switch to the Russian capital, but knows his time at Manchester United marks him out as a different kind of player and one who constantly fields questions about what life at Old Trafford was like.

Indeed, Buttner is frequently given promotional events to do due to his status as a former Manchester United player, even in preference to Russian internationals.

"Since my arrival not a day has passed without me being asked something about Manchester United", Buttner told Voetbal International.

"What was it like to play football with [Wayne] Rooney and [Robin] van Persie? What was it like to work under [Sir Alex] Ferguson? Even during sponsor commitments these things are mentioned every time.

"If you've played for Manchester United that speaks worldwide. Apparently more than if you come from a large French or Belgian club.

"And to think that Dynamo Moscow have a lot of Russian internationals under contract, but they are currently asked to promote [the club] less", he added.

The 25-year-old has so far clocked up six Russian Premier League appearances with Dynamo Moscow, as well as featuring in the club's Europa League campaign.
