Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen believes that he has improved over the course of the current season as his fitness levels have stepped up a notch.

Eriksen was on target for Spurs at the weekend when he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Southampton at White Hart Lane to return his team to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Dane believes that his improved performances are a result of simply clocking up more minutes on the pitch and growing into the season.

"I certainly feel physically much better now than a month ago", Eriksen admitted to Politiken.

"From the few games that I've played the most I know what the coach wants from me", he continued.

"We change the system from game to game, but most of the time we play with the 4-3-3."

Eriksen will clock up more playing time over the international break with Denmark locking horns with Albania and Portugal in Euro 2016 qualifying games.

Denmark won their opening qualifying clash against Armenia 2-1 last month.
