Stoke City forward Peter Crouch has revealed that he wants to extend his stay at the Britannia Stadium.

The 33-year-old, who joined Stoke from Tottenham Hotspur for a club record initial fee of £10m in 2011, is into the final year of his present contract with the Potters.

Crouch has thus far amassed 125 appearances in all competitions for Stoke, scoring 34 times and providing 19 assists.

And the England international, who has scored three times in the current campaign, explained that he is ready to commit his long-term future to Mark Hughes’ side.

"I would like to stay here for a long time”, he told the BBC.

“I enjoy playing for Stoke, I'm loving it here and long may that continue."

Crouch, who has 22 goals in 42 appearances for England to his name, has recently been touted to return to the international scene.

However, the former Liverpool striker insisted that he is not overly optimistic about donning England colours again and that he is focused on doing well for Stoke.

"If you're getting talked about, you must be doing something right, but I don't look to the squad announcements now with much hope or anticipation”, he continued.

"I loved every minute of my time with England. I didn't miss a squad for five years and I played in two World Cups.

"But now I'm concentrating only on doing what I can for Stoke City and I'm really enjoying my football."

Crouch last played for England in November 2010, when he came on as a substitute in the nation’s 2-1 loss to France in a friendly under then Three Lions boss Fabio Capello.
