Scramble To Increase Buy-out Clause of Arsenal and Liverpool Linked Talisca

Saturday, 18th October, 2014

Portuguese giants Benfica are aiming to increase the buy-out clause of Brazilian midfielder Talisca, amid interest in the player from Arsenal and Liverpool.

Benfica only snapped up Talisca in the summer transfer window, but he has wasted no time in making his mark at the Estadio da Luz, catching the eye of several of Europe's elite clubs.

Talisca already has a contract running until 2019 with Benfica, having inked the deal upon signing from Bahia in the summer.

The contract contains a release clause of €45m, but Benfica are growing concerned that the sum may be reached by one of Talisca's suitors.

And so, according to Portuguese daily O Jogo, a new deal with an increased buy-out clause is on the cards.

Benfica want to increase the Brazilian's buy-out clause to a whopping €60m to guard against a quickfire departure.

The 20-year-old has made seven appearances in the Primeira Liga for Benfica so far, scoring six goals in the process.
