Barcelona manager Luis Enrique believes his side’s upcoming clash against their arch-rivals Real Madrid on Saturday will not be “decisive” in the race for La Liga's title this season.

The Catalan giants, who defeated Eibar 3-0 at the weekend, are currently atop the league table with 22 points from eight games, four points and two places ahead of Los Blancos.

And with the season being relatively young, Enrique has played down the first El Clasico of the season.

"There are still a lot of games to play and I do not believe the game will be decisive", he told a press conference.

Enrique, who now wants his side to recover from their weekend fixture, however insisted that Barcelona will be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu in search of the full three points.

"We will be going to Real to win, as has been the case over the last few years", he added.

"But right now I just want us to rest and recover."

Barcelona, who are currently two points clear at the top of La Liga, will next face Ajax in the Champions League tomorrow before the weekend’s El Clasico.
