Jose Mourinho says he does not agree with Xabi Alonso's assessment that Chelsea are the only English club that can win the Champions League this season.
The Blues have so far won one and drawn one of their two Champions League group games, while other English clubs, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, have already lost one of their two matches.
Alonso, who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 and again with Real Madrid last season, feels Chelsea are the only English side equipped to win the competition.
But Mourinho, who managed Alonso at Real Madrid, feels the Spaniard is wide of the mark.
"I worked with Xabi for three years and I think we agreed with each other every day of these three seasons", Mourinho told a press conference.

"The relationship was perfect. But this time I have to disagree with Xabi.
"Every English team will have it difficult, as we will have.
"But in the knockout stage all the English teams will be paying the consequences of our winter fixtures.
"And German teams, Spanish teams, will be back from winter holidays and in much better conditions to compete."
