Inter Milan defender Juan Jesus believes that his team deserved a win against Napoli last night.

A frantic last few minutes saw the Nerazzurri earn a point at the San Siro against Rafael Benitez’s side.

Jose Callejon scored in the 79th minute to give the lead to the visitors, but a Fredy Guarin strike in the 82nd minute levelled the scores. The former Real Madrid man scored again in the 90th minute, but a goal from Hernanes in the dying second allowed Inter to rescue a point at the end.

The Inter defender was proud of his team’s performance and said that if they can continue to show the same level of determination results will follow.

"We did everything we had worked on during the week, and today you saw a team with heart and fighting spirit”, Jesus told the club’s official site

“We have to keep up this level of hunger. Then the results come.”

The Brazilian feels Inter were the only team who were playing to win and believes Napoli didn’t do enough to earn a point. He also added that Benitez’s side displayed admirable defensive discipline.

“In my opinion Napoli didn’t deserve to draw because we did everything to win, but that’s the way the game goes unfortunately", he added.

"We also tried to move the ball around well. Although we were finding space Napoli were always compact, with two lines of four. But the team did a lot, which is what counts.”

Inter are currently ninth in Serie A with only one win from their last five games.
