Stefan Johansen has insisted that Celtic’s weekend performance against Ross County was the perfect way to bounce back after a disappointment.

The Bhoys hammered Ross County 5-0 on Saturday away from home and the result came after the disappointing loss to league leaders Hamilton at Celtic Park in their previous league fixture.

Celtic are still six points adrift of Hamilton and are fifth in the Scottish Premiership table, but Johansen feels that the performance was important for them to regain some confidence.

He added that winning matches is always a morale booster and Celtic needed to bounce back from a disappointing start to their league season.

“We wanted to bounce back straight away, and in a good way as well”, the midfielder told the club’s official site.

“We wanted to show that we’re a good team and we won 5-0 and it could have been more, so it was a good game for us and an important win.

"It’s always good to win matches, especially having lost the previous match.

"We wanted to bounce back with a good win and a good performance and we did that, so it’s always a good feeling when that happens.”

Celtic next host FC Astra in a Europa League encounter at Celtic Park on Thursday.
