Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed his desire to retire at the Catalan club.

The Uruguayan international, who joined the Catalan giants from Liverpool in the summer, is yet to play in a competitive game for his new employers as he is currently serving a four-month ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

However, Suarez insisted that it would be “perfect” if he ended his playing career at the Camp Nou.

"If I had the chance to retire at Barca, that would be a perfect way to cap my career", he told Spanish daily Marca.

Suarez’s ban is set to end on 24th October, just a day before the season’s first El Clasico.

But the 27-year-old explained that he is not putting too much pressure on himself by thinking about his possible Barcelona debut at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

"I'm still not picturing myself playing because thinking like that can come back to haunt you, but I am imagining myself preparing for the match with the rest of the squad”, he added.

Suarez, whose present contract with Barcelona runs until 2019, was the Premier League’s top scorer last season, with 31 goals to his name.
