Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini feels Yaya Toure possesses the quality to make a difference in his side’s Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow tonight.

The Ivory Coast international, whose nation were knocked out of the group stages of the 2014 World Cup, came on as a late substitute in the Citizens’ 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at the weekend.

But Toure is expected to start against the Russian outfit at the Arena Khimki, where the Premier League champions triumphed 2-1 in the previous campaign.

And Pellegrini, who admitted Toure endured a difficult summer, believes the versatile midfielder will be a deciding factor against CSKA.

“Yaya Toure has the quality to make a difference”, the manager told UEFA’s official site.

“He had a difficult summer, but every game he is getting better, such as against Aston Villa recently when he decided the outcome.

“He can play in different positions, at second striker or in the centre of midfield.”

Toure, who was regularly linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium all summer, has thus far made 10 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City this season, with his solitary goal coming against Aston Villa just before the international break.
