Tottenham Hotspur skipper Younes Kaboul believes that his team have a lot of positives to take from their defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

The Lilywhites are keen to turn their focus away from the weekend's disappointing 4-1 loss when they take on Asteras Tripolis in a Europa League group stage match on Thursday.

And the 28-year-old is confident that his team are perfectly capable of bouncing back from the weekend's heavy loss.

He also insists that his team were not at their worst during the Manchester City match and were unfortunate at certain points in the game, with luck not smiling on them.

"It could have gone either way on Saturday, but unfortunately for us it went in City’s favour”, Kaboul told his club's official site.

“At the beginning we had two clear chances and we could have been 2-0 up before the 15-minute mark, but we didn’t take them and Joe Hart made some good saves.

“Sometimes you have to accept that, when you play away from home – especially at City, you won’t have a lot of chances but to be fair we created chances throughout the match and there were a lot of positive things to take forward.

"Now we move on to the next games looking for positive performances and wins."

The Lilywhites, who are currently placed ninth in the league table, will host relegation battlers Newcastle United at White Hart Lane this weekend in their next Premier League fixture.
