Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Gareth Bale will be unavailable for his side’s huge La Liga fixture with Barcelona on Saturday due to a muscle injury.

The Welsh international, who picked up the injury in training last week, also missed Los Blanco’s 3-0 triumph over Liverpool in the Champions League at Anfield last night with the problem.

And Ancelotti revealed that Bale will take no part in the season’s first El Clasico at the weekend.

"We'll see how his recovery goes," he told the BBC.

"But he isn't available for Saturday.”
