Darko Milanic has cut a defiant figure after his Leeds United side lost 2-1 at home to Wolves today and claimed he does not fear losing his job any more than when he first arrived at Elland Road.

The Slovenian headed into the home Championship game still without a win since taking over, with a run of three draws and two defeats to his name.

He had early hope of breaking his duck when Mirco Antenucci hit the back of the net in the 18th minute, as Leeds came out of the blocks brightly and performed well in the first half.

However, in the second period they wilted, Milanic's substitutions proving ineffective, and conceded goals in the 66th minute (James Henry) and 85th minute (Leon Clarke) to lose the game.

Leeds' next match comes against Cardiff City next weekend and Milanic was asked by LUTV if he is confident he can change the side's fortunes. "Yes I am", he replied, sternly.

And, given his predecessor David Hockaday was sacked after just four league games in charge, Milanic was then questioned about whether he is worried about losing his job.

"Like I was worried on the first day", the Slovenian said, explaining his fear of the axe has not increased.

Milanic, reflecting on the performance against Wolves, was encouraged by the first half display and simply wants his side to replicate that over an entire match.

"We have to maintain stability for 90 minutes and it has to be very quick because we play well and I think our fans in the first half know it was very good, but we have to maintain stability and play in this way for all the game", he explained.
