Ajax coach Frank de Boer has urged Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard not to go to the Premier League or La Liga, but instead head to join him in the Netherlands.

The 15-year-old midfielder, who earlier this month became the youngest ever player to turn out in a European Championship qualifier when he played for Norway against Bulgaria, is a hot property.

Odegaard has been invited to tour the facilities at Barcelona, while Real Madrid are also on his tail and ready to make him a millionaire if he heads to the Bernabeu.

Manchester United and Liverpool want to take the Stromsgodset midfielder to England, while Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are keen.

Ajax want to sign Odegaard too, but know they cannot compete on wages with Europe's elite, while the lure of a move to one of the continent's giants is also a factor.

But De Boer has sent a message to the young midfielder, with stern advice on what would be the best move for his future.

"They aren't waiting in Madrid for a guy like Martin, he would probably be loaned and it would be a long time until he got his chance", the Dutchman explained to VG.

"In the Premier League the same would apply.

"If he has to make a choice he should come to Ajax.

"With us he can try to get into the first team.

"I've seen footage of him and it's incredible what he's done at the age of 15.

"It's not normal that he is already playing in the Norwegian top flight."

Odegaard has vowed to only consider his future at the end of the Norwegian season with a potential switch then taking place in the new year.
