Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has expressed his satisfaction with a vital away draw against Borussia Monchengladbach yesterday.

The league leaders visited Stadion im Borussia-Park to take on Lucien Favre's side, who are currently placed second in the table with 17 points, just four points adrift of Bayern Munich.

Both sides were equally impressive, having come close to scoring on more than one occasion. But Die Fohlen denied Bayern Munich the chance to go seven points clear at the top as they held on to a draw, thus maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.

The former Barcelona manager on his part is satisfied with the point, insisting that his team played controlled football to deny their opponents from hitting them on the break.

“I’m very, very proud of my team and the way we played", Guardiola told his club's official site.

"We played very controlled football and in the first half we prevented them hitting us on the break even once.

"As you’d expect we were tired in the second half. We wanted to win but we slightly lost our shape and they hit us more often on the counter-attack.

"Overall I’m satisfied with our performance and the point."

Bayern Munich take on rivals Borussia Dortmund next in the league on 1st November.
