Louis van Gaal is pondering over handing Portuguese winger Nani a second chance to impress him at Manchester United next summer.

The Portuguese winger had a horrid last season at Old Trafford under David Moyes and managed only one goal in the entire campaign for the club.

Nani failed to grab the opportunities provided by Van Gaal in pre-season and he was promptly loaned out to Sporting Lisbon in the summer with the Red Devils paying his salary, the deal being waved through as defender Marcos Rojo headed the other way.

Since his arrival in Portugal, Nani has been experiencing a career renaissance and has scored four goals in ten appearances for Sporting, including two Champions League strikes.

Van Gaal has kept tabs on the Portuguese and his performances for Sporting haven’t gone unnoticed.

The Dutchman is now considering whether to provide Nani one more opportunity at Manchester United once he returns to the club next summer, according to Tutto Mercato.

Van Gaal is fond of creative players and feels he could find room for Nani in the Manchester United squad if he can prove his worth.

The Portuguese scored 40 goals and provided 73 assists in 230 appearances for the Red Devils before moving to Portugal.
