Fernando Torres says it was his own decision to leave Chelsea this summer, denying that Jose Mourinho forced him out of Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho often called for Torres to give the Blues more during the striker's time at Chelsea, although he always insisted he could never doubt the Spaniard's commitment.

This summer though Torres decided to move on and joined AC Milan on a two-year loan deal.

It was though, he claims, a move all of his own making, stressing he still enjoys a positive relationship with Mourinho, with whom he often talks.

"I myself wanted to leave Chelsea", the striker told Cuatro.

"Mourinho has always been good to me.

"Leaving Chelsea was a personal decision because I wanted more. I just had to make myself feel important.

"Mourinho and I still have a good relationship and we regularly talk", Torres added.

Torres has made seven Serie A appearances for AC Milan so far this term, finding the back of the net once.
