J-League side FC Tokyo are keen to sign Barcelona’s veteran midfielder Xavi in the January transfer window.

Xavi was linked with a move to several Qatari clubs and MLS side New York City FC in the summer, but decided to continue at the Nou Camp for at least one more season.

After winning a World Cup and two European Championships, the 34-year-old retired from international football following a disappointing World Cup with Spain in Brazil.

Xavi has lost his starting spot in the Barcelona side this season and has only started four games.

And according to Japanese daily Nikkan Sports, FC Tokyo are lining up a bid for the veteran midfielder in January.
