England manager Roy Hodgson has assured Tottenham Hotspur youngster Harry Kane that if he continues playing well for the England Under-21 squad, there is no reason why he cannot receive a call to the senior side.

The 67-year-old today announced his 26-man squad for the Euro 2016 qualifier scheduled to be played on 15th November and the friendly against Scotland at Celtic Park three days' later.

While the squad included new faces like Saido Berahino, Kane, who has been impressive domestically for Tottenham this season, was overlooked.

However, the former Fulham boss insists that he looks at all the players and there is no reason why Kane cannot make it through if he continues with his form.

"We look at all players. I'm pleased for Harry Kane", Hodgson was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"On this occasion Harry will play for the Under-21s, but if he keeps playing well, it won't be long before he'll be knocking on the door for a place in the senior squad."

Kane has managed an overall 13 appearances for the Lilywhites this season having scored nine goals and has also provided his team-mates with a lone assist.
