Gerard Pique is ready to leave Barcelona in January, news which will put his suitors in England on red alert.

The centre-back has often been relegated to benchwarming duties since coach Luis Enrique took charge in the summer and matters are now coming to a head.

According to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo, Pique will demand a January Camp Nou exit if he does not start in forthcoming La Liga games against Sevilla (22nd November) and Valencia (30th November).

And the Spain international will not be short of potential destinations.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is a firm fan of his talents and the Red Devils have been strongly linked with making a move for Pique.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Manchester City are also keeping a close watch on the defender's situation at Barcelona.

And Pique's situation is made even more complex by a transfer ban Barcelona are suffering, which means the Catalans are reluctant to sell the defender.
