Napoli are keen to sign Liverpool target Andre Ayew from Marseille in the winter transfer window, according to French outlet Maxifoot.

The Italian outfit, who lost forward Lorenzo Insigne to a cruciate knee ligament recently, have identified Ayew as a potential candidate to beef up their attacking department.

The 24-year-old’s contract with Marseille expires in the summer, and Napoli hope to sign him for a cut-price deal.

The Ligue 1 leaders may well accept any offer that comes their way or they will have to release the Ghana international on a free transfer after the end of the season.

Ayew, who is a product of Marseille’s youth system, has thus far amassed 190 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 51 times and providing 22 assists.
