Celtic striker John Guidetti has poured praise on Marseille following the French club showing an interest in his services.

Guidetti is currently on a season-long loan at Celtic from Manchester City, but with a contract at the Etihad Stadium which expires next summer, has effectively left the Citizens and has his future in his own hands.

The Swede has been in fine form for Celtic and the Bhoys are keen to explore keeping him on a permanent basis.

But Guidetti's form has not gone unnoticed elsewhere and now Marseille are paying close attention to his situation, especially as their own primary marksman, Andre-Pierre Gignac, is likely to leave next summer when his contract comes to an end.

And Guidetti has wasted little time in sending out come-and-get-me signals to Marseille, after playing at the club's Stade Velodrome for Sweden against France this week.

"Marseille is a great city with an incredible stadium", the striker was quoted as saying by Maxifoot.

"I was not aware of their interest, this is the first time I have heard about it.

"But it is always nice to hear that a big club like them follow you", he added.
