Inter Milan are planning an assault on Marseille’s contract-rebel Andre-Pierre Gignac in January, a player who has been interesting a number of clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

Gignac’s contract is set to expire next summer and there are no indications that he is going to sign a new deal with Marseille, who cannot offer him even a continuation of his current salary.

The forward will be open to talk to his suitors in January and new Inter boss Roberto Mancini is putting Inter in position.

Mancini wants to buy an attacker and has identified Gignac as one of his key targets, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, it is unclear whether Inter are looking to agree a pre-contract with the player or complete a deal to bring Gignac to San Siro in January.
