Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been nominated for the Goal of the Year award in the MLS.

The Frenchman’s goal, which he curled into the far side of the net from the edge of the penalty area, for New York Red Bulls against Kansas City on 6th September, has been nominated for the accolade.




Henry will be competing against Erick Torres (Chivas USA), Fedrico Higuain (Columbus) and Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) for the award.

The former Arsenal forward joined MLS side New York Red Bulls from Barcelona on a free transfer in 2010 and is one of the superstars of the game in the US.
 


So far he has scored 51 goals in 128 appearances for the club and has won the MLS Eastern Conference trophy twice, in 2010 and 2013.
