Hugo Borst, the author of Louis van Gaal’s biography ‘O, Louis’, has claimed that Kevin Strootman has already agreed to join Manchester United next summer.

Van Gaal is a fan of the Roma player and has been keeping a close eye on the midfielder’s rehabilitation from the cruciate knee ligament injury that he sustained earlier this year, and which forced him to miss the World Cup.

Though Roma have insisted that the Dutchman is not for sale, the Manchester United manager is keen to bring his compatriot to Old Trafford.

And in what will be music to the ears of Manchester United fans, Van Gaal’s biographer Borst has claimed that Strootman has already agreed in principle to join the Red Devils next summer.

“Last spring, during the match between PSV and Feyenoord, Kevin Strootman, Louis van Gaal and Robin van Persie met”, Borst was quoted as saying by Calcio Mercato.

“We already knew that Van Gaal would join Manchester United.

“The manager asked Strootman whether he was interested in joining him in Manchester and he said yes. They even shook hands to seal the deal.

“But it will not happen this January, but next summer.”
