Borussia Dortmund are lining up a January move for Liverpool target and Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Swiss international was open to a move away from Bayern Munich in the summer due to a lack of opportunities at the club.

The German champions refused to sanction his sale, but the situation might be different in the January transfer window as the Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola feels the 23-year-old is not suitable for his style of play.

Liverpool have been maintaining their interest in the winger since the summer and will be ready to pounce if Bayern Munich are willing to sell.

But the Reds will face stiff competition from Borussia Dortmund, who are also keeping a close eye on proceedings at the Allianz Arena, according to Swiss outlet Fussball Infos.

Jurgen Klopp is willing to do business with the German champions and would be happy to add the nimble-footed winger to his struggling Dortmund squad in January.

It remains to be seen whether Shaqiri is ready to move to England in January or take the option of staying in Germany with Dortmund.

The player’s agent did say last week that a January move for his client would be a complicated one.
