Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City are still capable of progressing to the next round of the Champions League despite their poor showing in the tournament this season.

The English champions, who will welcome Bayern Munich to the Etihad Stadium tonight, are currently last in Group E with just two points from four games, 10 adrift of the Bavarians and two adrift of Roma and CSKA Moscow.

But Guardiola feels the Citizens have the resources to defeat his side and Roma in their final group stage game to book their place in the Round of 16 of the continental competition.

The Spaniard further added that he also believes Manuel Pellegrini’s side have it them to turn around their fortunes in the Premier League, where Manchester City currently find themselves in third place with 24 points, eight adrift of leaders Chelsea.

“If they beat us and win in Rome then City will qualify”, Guardiola explained to UEFA’s official site.
