Luka Modric is desperate to avoid surgery for his groin injury in order to make a quicker recovery.

The Real Madrid midfielder was expected to be sidelined until February 2015 due to the injury, but the club doctors are trying to avoid surgery for a quicker recovery.

They are trying to heal the injury through conservative treatment, which will help Modric to get back to action quicker than expected, according to Marca.

The treatment is expected to last for another two months to fully gauge its effects in healing the problematic groin of the midfielder.

The injury came as a blow for the Croat, who was in fine form for Los Blancos this season, but the player is desperate to get back on the pitch.
