Liverpool defender Kolo Toure feels that it is important that Brendan Rodgers is placing his trust in him for the big games.

Toure played at the heart of the defence as Liverpool managed a 2-2 draw against Ludogorets in Sofia last night.

And the veteran defender is happy that he was trusted for a big Champions League game and added that he is ready to do a job for the team whenever the manager needs him to.

"For me, to play in those big games is so important", Toure told the club’s official site.

"That's why I'm here. I just want to help the team. Every time the manager calls on me, I'll do my best to help the team get a good result.”

Toure admits that the club are going through a tough phase with four back-to-back defeats, prior to last night’s game, but said that the Reds will keep their chins up and fight their way back into form.

"We fight as a team.

"It's always difficult when you keep losing games.

"I think we got a reaction. This season has been tough, but when there are tough times, that's when you see tough people. We'll keep fighting."

A point in Sofia means Liverpool must win their last group game against FC Basel at Anfield to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.
