Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon is expecting a tough and high tempo encounter in the Europa League against Red Bull Salzburg.

The Hoops are playing in the Europa League because of their failure to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League, but the club have done well so far in the competition.

They are still unbeaten in Group D and if they can pull off a win against Red Bull Salzburg tonight at home, they will book a place in the last 32 of the competition.

But the Celtic shot-stopper is not expecting an easy ride at Celtic Park against their Austrian opponents and are expecting them to be tough as nails tonight.

He also feels the Bhoys were fortunate to earn a draw in the reverse fixture in Austria thanks to their clinical finishing.

But Gordon is expecting an aggressive Salzburg team to provide a tough challenge to the home team later this evening.

“It will be a very tough test as they are a really good team, and they gave us a really hard game over there”, the Scotland goalkeeper told the club’s official site.

“We were probably slightly fortunate to come away with the draw but it was a good backs-to-the-wall performance.

“We scored with two of our chances so it was pleasing from that point of view, but we knew we had been in a game.

“They are very aggressive in their pressing of the ball.

"They press everyone all over the pitch to try and win the ball back.

"It will be played at a very high tempo, and it will be at tough one for us and we have to try and win at home.”
