Ronny Deila is happy his Celtic team are heading through to the last 32 of the Europa League, but admits to disappointment at his side's 3-1 loss to Red Bull Salzburg tonight.

Celtic Park was quickly stunned after Brazilian striker Alan blasted past Bhoys goalkeeper Craig Gordon in just the eighth minute.

Alan was not finished though and quickly doubled the visitors' advantage in the 13th minute, taking advantage of poor Celtic defending from a corner kick.

Celtic though hit back, with Stefan Johansen hitting a classy shot in the 30th minute to pull a goal back for the hosts.

But despite growing into the game as the 90 minute mark approached, stopping Salzburg dominating, Celtic could not find an equaliser.

Indeed, they even found themselves being hit with a sucker punch after Navy Keita scored for Salzburg at the death.

Celtic progress following Dinamo Zagreb's loss to Astra in Romania, and Deila is not too downbeat to lose to Salzburg, feeling the Austrians are a fine side.

"We are happy to be going through but we wanted to do it ourselves", he said via the BBC.

"We opened the game very poorly, but showed courage to come back and I'm proud of the second half; we really put them under pressure.

"Salzburg has shown themselves a very good team and the best teams are going through."
