Adam Lallana has stressed that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is a complete team player whose versatility will come in handy for the Reds.

Can switched from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool this summer, but an injury at the start of the season limited his playing time.

But since his return last month, the German midfielder has been in fine form for the club and even scored his first goal against Chelsea.

Lallana is all praise for his fellow summer signing and said that the former Leverkusen man adds a lot to any team with his versatility.

But most importantly, the former Saints man has applauded Can’s selfless nature and said that the midfielder is a complete team player who is ready to sacrifice himself for the collective cause.

"He's a top player”, Lallana told the club’s official site.

“His versatility – he can play in defensive positions and I think he's played full-back at times as well. But he's more dominant in the central role.

"He's also a very unselfish player. He'll always put the team first. He'll sacrifice himself in terms of whether he's got to make a last-ditch tackle or help his team-mate out.”
