Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that their Sunday's opponents Southampton are a tough side to play against and deserve to be where they are in the Premier League.

It will be a match to watch out for, as two of this year's top teams lock horns at St. Mary's on Sunday.

Speaking about the hosts, who have been a revelation this season, Pellegrini added the Saints deserve every bit of credit for being where they are at present.

The Chilean insists that in spite of having lost a number of key players, Ronald Koeman has done a great job with the team, which proves a lot about their character.

"They are a good team with very good players and they're playing very well. It's no surprise they are where they are", Pellegrini said at a press conference.

"Ronald Koeman has lost four or five players but they are still a good team and that's a merit to him.

"It will be a tough game."

The hosts are currently placed second in the Premier League table with 26 points from 12 matches while the visitors are placed third with 24 points from the same number of matches.
