Roberto Martinez has reserved special praise for Everton’s defence after their win over Wolfsburg last night.

Two goals from Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas helped Everton register a 2-0 win away to Wolfsburg and the result also allowed them to secure top spot in Group H as well qualification to the last 32 of the Europa League.




Everton are unbeaten in the group stage and have comfortably qualified for the next round, which has pleased the Toffees manager.

Martinez praised his side’s lethal counter attacking capabilities, but reserved special appreciation for his defenders and his goalkeeper.
 


"On the transition we were lethal and every time we broke we looked really threatening”, the Everton manager told the BBC.

Everton are unbeaten in eight in all competitions and will take an away trip to Tottenham on Sunday.
