Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that his club are keen to retain midfielder Sami Khedira, but are not sure about the future of the player, amidst increasing interest.

The 27-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract and is yet to sign a new deal with Los Blancos, with Premier League side Arsenal showing keen interest in securing his services, along with AC Milan.

The Italian manager insists that Khedira is a player in whom he has a lot of confidence and hopes that the German international will be able to leave his injuries behind him and start playing with full confidence soon.

"The club's desire is to talk to him about a contract renewal. It's a negotiation and I don't know what will happen", Ancelotti said at a press conference.
