Louis van Gaal is pondering over handing James Wilson his first Premier League start against Hull City today, but remained evasive when questioned on the subject.

The Manchester United boss is known to be a big fan of Wilson, but it is unclear whether the 18-year-old will start against Hull, despite question marks over Robin van Persie's confidence, while Radamel Falcao is only just returning to action.

Van Gaal was asked at his press conference yesterday whether Wilson will start against the Tigers and was quoted as replying by the BBC: "You shall wait and see."

Wilson, who featured off the bench against Arsenal in last weekend's 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium, has been praised by Red Devils assistant Ryan Giggs.

"James did well when he got his chance", Giggs said.
