Liverpool and Arsenal target Andre-Pierre Gignac admits that his idol is former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The French striker’s eleven goals this season have played a crucial role in Marseille’s rise to the top of Ligue 1.




And the prolific forward, who is out of contract next summer, has revealed that his idol is another prolific marksman of his days, former Manchester United forward Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Gignac feels like his idol, he is also a hard working striker and believes that he is having one of the best seasons of his career at Marseille.
 


“I consider myself a team player, as was my idol Ruud van Nistelrooy”, the Frenchman told Gazzetta dello Sport.

With Gignac's contract having less than a year to run, he has been linked with a number of clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Italian giants Inter.
