Andre Villas-Boas has spoken out on speculation he is being lined up to replace Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

Rodgers is struggling at Anfield and after spending more than £100m on new players over the summer has taken last year's runners-up backwards, Liverpool currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table.

It has been claimed in England that Liverpool's American owners are looking closely at moving for Villas-Boas and have asked for information on the Portuguese to be collected.

But the former Tottenham Hotspur boss claims he is perfectly happy at current club Zenit St. Petersburg.

Asked about the Liverpool link at a press conference, the former Chelsea boss replied: "I am very happy at Zenit.

"And this is why I can say that going back to England is not currently part of my plans", Villas-Boas added.

Zenit, who take on Monaco away this evening, will qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League side if they can beat the Ligue 1 outfit. Liverpool meanwhile must beat Basel at Anfield to book their last 16 spot.
