Bayern Munich have edged ahead of their rivals in the race to secure the signature of Liverpool target Martin Odegaard.

The Norwegian prodigy recently became the youngest player to play in the European Championship qualifiers and is being chased by some of Europe’s top clubs, including Celtic, Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Dortmund, Real Madrid and Ajax.

He is one of the hottest young talents in world football at the moment and has already trained with number of his suitors, including Liverpool and Bayern Munich over the course of the last few weeks, and is expected to make a decision on his future next month.

But according to German broadcaster Sport 1, Odegaard has been in Munich for the past few days and Bayern Munich are favourites to sign the teen sensation.

Odegaard is still 15 and won’t be able to sign a professional contract before tomorrow, when he reaches the eligible age.

With him staying in Munich and Bavarians CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s exuding confidence while talking about Odegaard, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the German champions are currently leading the race.

But crucially for his suitors, Odegaard is not expected to make a decision before next month and they still have time turn the tide.
