Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has paid tribute to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who is hanging up his boots and retiring from the game.

Sturridge admits to holding Henry in the highest esteem and has wished the Frenchman good luck in his future career, which will be on television with Sky Sports.




Indeed, Sturridge views Henry as his "hero" and has nothing but warm words for the 37-year-old.

 


Sturridge wrote on Twitter: "Happy retirement to my hero and idol Thierry Henry.

Henry is expected to take his coaching badges while working as a pundit for Sky Sports in the UK.

The striker had been linked with a move to the Indian Super League, along with several other lucrative tournaments.
