The Nerazzurri won their first match under returning manager Roberto Mancini as they beat Verona 2-0 away from home.

Zanetti, a former Inter Milan player, hopes that it is the start of something positive for his team as they look to go into the winter break in a more relaxed mood.

Inter Milan are scheduled to host Lazio next on 21st December before enjoying the Christmas break post which they will face league leaders Juventus on 6th January.

“We hope to build on the performance we put in at Verona by winning our next game", Zanetti told his club's official site.

"That would be important and would make for a more relaxing Christmas break! We have great faith and we’re convinced that the team can continue to grow.

"In order to wear the Nerazzurri jersey, the players need to want to work hard and focus solely on football."

Mancini's team are currently placed eleventh in the league table with 20 points from 15 matches.
