Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli feels that his side produced a "perfect performance" against Newcastle United in the League Cup this evening.

Spurs overran the Magpies at White Hart Lane to run out 4-0 winners and book a semi-final tie against Sheffield United.

Goals from Nabil Bentaleb (18th minute), Nacer Chadli (46th minute), Harry Kane (65th minute) and Roberto Soldado (70th minute) proved too much for Newcastle to handle.

Stambouli believes that Spurs did not put a foot wrong during the League Cup clash.

"I think it was a perfect performance. We were focused on our opponents, we had that willingness to score and it came naturally", Stambouli was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"It is never easy even if you are winning 2-0, but we focused on our defending and then our attackers took their chances.

"All the club and all the fans are very happy. We will do our best to win this trophy", he added.
