Liverpool target Mattia Perin’s agent has denied speculation that Roma have made an approach for his client and said that a move abroad is still the more probable option for the young goalkeeper.

Tipped to be Italy’s future number one, the 22-year-old has attracted interest from all quarters, including Serie A club Roma and Premier League outfit Liverpool.

With Simon Mignolet struggling this season, the Reds are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper and have been linked with a move for the young Italian custodian.

Roma are also looking for a long term successor for Morgan de Sanctis and feel Perin is the answer to their goalkeeping conundrum.

The player’s agent, Moreno Roggi, has denied any contact from Roma and said that moving abroad is still the more feasible option for his client.

“We have had no contact from Roma”, Roggi told Tele Radio Stereo.

“If I have to predict the future, a move abroad is still the easier option for Perin, but that doesn’t mean he is ruling out a stay in Italy.”

Roggi has already indicated that Liverpool are in touch with him for his client, but has ruled out a transfer in January.
