Stefan Johansen is pleased with his development as a footballer at Celtic and is focusing on winning trophies with the Hoops.

Johansen arrived at Celtic Park from Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset in January this year and played a key role in Celtic winning the league title last season.

Under new manager Ronny Deila, who also managed him at Stromsgodset, Johansen has taken up a more attacking role in Celtic’s midfield this term.

The midfielder admits that he joined Celtic not just to win trophies, but also to improve his own game and he feels he has managed to fulfil both his goals.

“I came to Celtic because it’s a huge club and I wanted to be a better player”, the Norwegian told Celtic View.

“It’s a great club to develop as a player and you get big games here.

“This season the most important thing for me is to win games and titles but you need to develop as well as a player and I feel like I’ve done that since I came here.”

The Norwegian international also believes he has grown in stature at Celtic Park and is pleased with the way he has developed into a more rounded midfielder.

“Right now I’m starting to find my way, really, into the team. I’m delivering assists, goals and creating chances.”

Celtic will take an away trip to third-placed Dundee United on Sunday.
