Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes it is normal that his side have been drawn to face Liverpool in the semi-final of the League Cup.

The Blues' reward for seeing off Derby County earlier this week is a two-legged semi-final affair against Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool side. And Mourinho is happy with the draw, feeling it is only normal the most difficult games should come in the latter stages of the competition.

"If you want to win competitions you have to play against the best teams, unless you are so lucky that everyone finds a giantkiller and is out of the competition", he told a press conference.

"But it's normal for us to play a semi-final against a team that has the same ambitions."
