Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is unhappy at Gabriel Agbonlahor being sent off for his side in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United today, claiming Ashley Young admitted he "made the foul" on the forward instead.

Lambert's men took the lead in the 18th minute through Christian Benteke and were competing well with Louis van Gaal's men.

Manchester United stepped up the pace in the second half and got their reward when Radamel Falcao headed home in the 53rd minute.

Then the controversy, when Agbonlahor was sent off in the 65th minute for a challenge on Young, which many in the Aston Villa side thought was the wrong way, with Young having fouled Agbonlahor.

And Lambert is unhappy with the referee's decision.

"I thought we looked great", the Aston Villa boss was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I thought the goal was a world-class goal from Christian and the sending off put us on the back foot.

"I didn't think it was a sending off to be fair. Ashley Young has said to [Aston Villa goalkeeper] Brad Guzan that he made the foul on Gabriel Agbonlahor.

"That was not a sending off, everyone in the ground saw that", Lambert added.
