Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn believes that his side are starting to develop a tough streak after they grabbed a 1-1 draw away at Nottingham Forest this evening.

Matty Fryatt put Forest ahead on the stroke of half time as the hosts took control of the match. Fryatt also saw himself twice denied by offside calls, one looking particularly harsh.

Leeds drew level in the second half through Billy Sharp, included in the team ahead of Souleymane Doukara, from the penalty spot in the 54th minute.

Forest pushed, but could find no second goal and had to make do with a point at the City Ground.

Redfearn was pleased with his side's application to grab a draw, especially with his team having collapsed in away games of late, losing their last match on the road 4-1 to Ipswich Town.

"We applied ourselves really well. I thought we deserved to keep a clean sheet in the first half and the goal wasn't good from our point of view", he told LUTV.

"But I thought the overall performance, the diligence and the change when we went to 4-4-2, I thought that was a really good away performance. The performances have been getting better away from home, but today there was a resilience and toughness about us.

"We deserved a bit of luck", Redfearn added, addressing Forest's disallowed goals. "We've been there plenty of times ourselves.

"There's a belief developing [in our side] and a realisation that they’re good enough [to compete]."

Pressed on how he set the side up to cope with Forest, Redfearn revealed: "The idea was to make it difficult for them in wider positions.

"I thought Billy Sharp and [Mirco] Antenucci today dropped into areas which made it difficult for them to play forward.

"But we had an idea that they might go to a back three, which helped us in some respects.

"I thought how they applied themselves and switched on and reacted to the starting positions to make it difficult for them to play was really good."
